The Disappearance of Anita Florence Thorne

The Disappearance of Anita Florence Thorne

Anita Florence Thorne was 49 years old and living in Prince George, British Columbia when she went missing.

On Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014, Anita was last seen at the Super Save Gas Station on Victoria Street in British Columbia, she then went to the adjoining Tim Horton's drive-thru.

Anita was reported missing to police that same night at 8:15 pm. It is unclear whether her family, friends, or partner reported her missing. The next day around midday a police officer found her 2013 black Ford Escape at the Willow River rest stop next to Highway 16. The rest stop was approximately 35 km east of the city. Police were able to search the car which was unlocked and found Anita's purse inside. It is believed that she had her keys, cigarettes, lighter, and cell phone with her at the time of her disappearance. No calls to her cell phone were able to connect when attempted.

After a four-day air and ground search, police suspended the search after nothing was found. To this day, no one has heard from Anita and there have been no leads in the case, and it is still unsolved.
